June H.I.P. Tour a success
Hospitality Industry Professionals tour the county
On June 24th, the Central Florida Visitors and Convention Bureau hosted 31 Polk County tourism partners from attractions, restaurants and accommodations for a Hospitality Industry Professional (H.I.P) Tour. Participants traversed the entire county visiting attractions and learning more about what our community has to offer its visitors.
The itinerary for the day included stops at the Florida’s Natural Grove House, the Polk County Historical Museum and Genealogical Library, Polk Museum of Art, Davidson of Dundee, and the Visitor Information Center- Polk Outpost 27. The bus took a driving tour of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture and downtown Lakeland attractions such as the Polk Theatre, Explorations V Children’s Museum ,and Hollis Garden.
During lunch at the Polk County Tourism & Sports Marketing headquarters the participants heard a presentation by Harriet Burke of LEGOLAND® Florida who gave an update on the park’s progress and plans for opening.
Because there is too much to see in our community in just one day, Fantasy of Flight and Bok Tower Gardens provided two complimentary tickets to each participant to visit on their own.
